Family Central's Miami-Dade Office is seeking a part-time Parent Group Leader to join our new Incredible Years team! The Incredible Years evidence based parenting programs focus on strengthening parenting competencies and fostering parent involvement in children's school experiences, to promote children's academic, social  and emotional skills and reduce conduct problems. Family Central provides parenting programs for caregivers of babies (0-12 months), and toddlers (1-3 years). Parents learn how to:  Help their babies feel loved, safe, and secure; encourage their babies' physical and language development, encourage their toddler's language, social, and emotional development, establish clear and predictable routines, handle separations and reunions  and use positive discipline to manage behavior.

The parenting group format fosters peer support networks and shared learning. Trained Incredible Years facilitators use video clips of real-life situations to support the training and stimulate group discussions. Parents practice skills with their babies/toddlers in the group.

Requirements include: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in social work or a related field.  Minimum two years of experience in providing direct service to children and families.  Experience in one of the helping professions required: social work, psychology, education, nursing, psychiatry, or have extensive experience working with families and children. Six months experience in parent education, preferred.  Evening hours required and Saturday availability preferred. Must have reliable transportation.  Able to work flexible hours.  Valid Florida Driver's License or State of Florida ID card required. Able to perform in an empowered environment by working collaboratively with other professionals, personnel and direct service providers. Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations. Bilingual preferred.

As a Parent Group Leader, you willL

Co-facilitate parenting sessions/classes in the Incredible Years (IY) parent education curriculum.  Facilitates groups using the IY standard materials, methods, processes and protocols. Attend relevant IY trainings, participate consultation with IY, and complete make up sessions with clients. Participate in supervision with Program Manager.Provide case management services to clients and wait listed participants for linkage to resources as needed. Document all client contact and maintain accurate records for contract compliance and outcome measures.Prepare court reports, status letters, or other reports to referring agencies as requested. Administer pre- and post- inventories, questionnaires, and surveys to assess client progress and satisfaction, maintaining contract compliance, as required.Provide information to Program Manager for completion of monthly, quarterly and/or year-end reports. Assist with community awareness of the Incredible Years program and perform other duties that may be necessary to maintain the success of the organization.
