Family Central is looking to hire a full-time Claim Specialist to process provider's monthly Child Care Food Program (CCFP) claims for reimbursement and provide technical assistance.

As a CFFP Claim Specialist responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Entering claim, enrollment and eligibility data into database for monthly claim.
  • Preparing and maintaining required documents for assigned programs.
  • Providing technical assistance as required to childcare providers and staff regarding assigned programs.
  • Ensuring that all required reports are completed accurately by assigned deadline.
  • Preparing and mailing monthly paperwork to providers by assigned deadline.
  • Assisting with processing of monthly claims data for child care centers.
  • Keeping manager and Chief Program Officer informed of all tasks and projects and assisting with projects as needed.
  • Participating in the organization of special events related to child care programs.

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Child Development, Nutrition, Communication or related field preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in claims processing or similar work environment, two (2) years preferred. Technical degree or enrollment in technical/vocational program can substitute for years of experience.
  • Must have the ability to understand and effectively communicate concerning state and federal child care food program policy. The ability to create reports and correspondence in English, and the ability to effectively communicate and offer technical assistance in English.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
